Summer Wildflower Identification, Second Field Trip
Again, With thanks to Melanie and all of the other students for putting up with the photographer!Here are the photos from the second field trip.
These are not as good as the first field trip mainly because the light in the fields for the first field trip was so great! This field trip hit many shady spots with difficult light.

Everytime I tried to photograph this fly the flash made it jump off the leaf before the shutter captured it - that's quite a good reaction time.

Downy Rattlesnake Plantain - there is a tiny fly pollinating this little orchid (it has its head in a flower on the right, its wings reflected the flash).
